Another entry in Fast Tommi's "night mod" series.

You don't need to download the program set - it comes with the track.

10/13/2006 - #449: westwd90 (415KB)
New track from first-timer Glen Leugner, Westwood was a Canadian road course that hosted races from the '60s up until 1990. You'll note the use of the past-tense. It's now a housing development or some damned thing. This version of the track represents how it looked in 1990, its last year of operation. (As opposed to the other, still-unreleased Westwood from Strava - which is a 1967 version of the track.)
10/13/2006 - #448: silvnite (405KB)

10/13/2006 - #443: toniring (328KB)
Fantasy track from first-timer Toni Mau.
10/13/2006 - #442: pacirace (395KB)
A new one from Ginetto (Firebird, Junior, Fiorano), Pacific Raceways is a real American road course.
10/13/2006 - #441: moon (420KB)
An 'out there' track from Richard Neville, this (obviously fantasy) track takes place on the surface of the moon. Neat, and definitely something different.
10/13/2006 - #440: jops (399KB)
A track from the guys at F1Legends.ch in honor of their friend Jops Siffert, who died last year at the age of 40. Fantasy track. Fast, flowing, fun to drive. Really gorgeous scenery.
10/13/2006 - #439: dund1950 (439KB)
The latest and greatest from the legendary Jim Pearson, who strides the earth like a colossus among ordinary men - at least in the world of GPL track-building. Slightly different from the previously-released Dundrod 1965 track. Great feel, great look, great track.
10/13/2006 - #438: apodaca (382KB)
The latest from Raul. Apodaca is (or was, at any rate) a real club circuit in Mexico. I think it's too chicaney for the fast cars, fine for the '65s, but what do I know..

You don't need to download the program set - it comes with the track.

10/13/2006 - #437: monsanto (412KB)
A new one from Sergio...well it was new when it came out a couple of months ago. Anyway, it's a real-life Portuguese track, a considerably longer version of the mclaros track.

You don't need to download the program set - it comes with the track.

5/31/2006 - #436: zandy39b (452KB)
Yet another forgotten long-time beta that recently found its way into the TotalRank listing. This track is... well, let's just say it's more beta than most...
5/31/2006 - #435: rscarena (403KB)
Another TotalRank anomoly - RSCArena isn't a standalone track, you unzip one of 6 configurations into it. Magnus (?) repackaged it into the more-well-behaved standalone RSCArena 1-6 tracks, which are what everyone should be using...
5/31/2006 - #434: neuvil (363KB)
Another long-time beta that recently got promoted into the TotalRank - the 'old' Neuvil by Mark Daniels is a short version of 'Vil', and not related to the other 'Neuvil' (aka 'jim'). It's actually a pretty nice-looking track for an unfinished/abandoned project.
5/31/2006 - #433: jhall (429KB)
The Jim Hall Kart Racing School track - released a long time ago by James Sowell. Still a beta, but it's in the TotalRank...
5/31/2006 - #432: grendirt (444KB)
The same track as the Watkins Glen 1948 'dirt' track (aka glendirt), but in green summery textures instead of the fall colors found in the other one. Superfluous, but it showed up in the TotalRank one day...
5/31/2006 - #431: columbia (418KB)
Columbia River Speedway is a 1-mile oval from Mark Beckman and Eric Bourgouin. Released forever ago, it's still listed as 'beta', but for whatever reason it made its way into the GPLRank 'TotalRank' listing - and that means it needs a BAPOM progset...
5/31/2006 - #430: blckwerk (424KB)
Blackwerk is a curiosity from Fast Tommi - a retextured black-and-white version of Machwerk, to approximate the look of old films and the televisions we had back in the '60s. Nifty.
5/31/2006 - #429: roadonti (411KB)
Road Ontario is a new fantasy track from Mike Bennett, who also produced Waterloo and another, unrelated Road Ontario (!). Fun fast sweeping hilly circuit, sort of feels like Dijonp73 and several of the Strava tracks. Looks like it'd be a good fit for the '69 cars.
5/31/2006 - #428: sand68 (416KB)
Sandown International Raceway by Neil Lowe and the Tasman guys. Another real track used in the Tasman series. Beautiful track, raises the bar on 'realistic texture work'!

You don't need to download the program set - it comes with the track.

5/31/2006 - #427: amaroo (456KB)
Amaroo Park Circuit is another new one from Sergio & Co. Real track in Australia used from the '60s through the '90s. Now it's a mall or something - pity. A great, great track for hotlapping, right up there with Lime Rock, for what that's worth.

You don't need to download the program set - it comes with the track.

5/31/2006 - #426: moircy (399KB)
Moircy is a fantasy track from first-timer Jean-François Bovy - quite good, worth checking out!
5/31/2006 - #425: nitewerk (403KB)
The progsets for the first set of tracks released in Fast Tommi's "Night Mod" - if you haven't downloaded it yet, you should, it's cool!

5/31/2006 - #420: wigram (623KB)
Wigram Aerodrome is a new track from Robert Hunter and the Tasman team. A real New Zealand track used in the Tasman series in the '60s. Enjoy the big dip in the hairpin... Note that this progset comes with three versions of the cover, for those of you who run separate 65/67 installs, and care about that sort of thing.

You don't need to download the program set - it comes with the track.

5/31/2006 - #419: mclaros (420KB)
New one from Sergio & Co., Monte Claros is the short version of Monsanto park circuit in Lisbon, Portugal. The track was used for F3 races in the '60s.
3/20/2006 - #418: dijonp73 (450KB)
A new, and more-flowing version of Dijon-Prenois from Jacques Bossy. Also the 500th track listed in the GPLtd, a noteworthy milestone in GPL-dom. Comes complete with some very tasty (if I say so myself) BAPOM Original Artwork. Enjoy the Poster/MegaPoster versions to really get into it.

You don't need to download the program set - it comes with the track.

3/20/2006 - #417: bonchan (404KB)
Another new one from Strava (the slot track guy!), a fantasy track. Typical Strava - fast flowing corners, no 'gotcha' moments, great for racing - which is to say, "a good thing!"
3/20/2006 - #416: amaroo67 (396KB)
New from Sergio Loro and his team, this is the 1967 version of Amaroo Park, one of the period Australian tracks that (for whatever reason) wasn't used in the Tasman Series in the late '60s. Let's pretend it was.
3/20/2006 - #415: junior (382KB)
Another new track from Ginetto (Fiorano, FIR), Junior is the Pista Junior variation of Monza, as used by Formula 3 in the '60s. The track cuts off the front straight shortly after the pits, connects to the rear straight right after Ascari, and continues through the Parabolica back onto the front straight. Short 'n' sweet!
3/20/2006 - #414: hilltop (415KB)
Here's another new fantasy track from Strava, a fun, flowing medium-speed track, well suited to racing, and dicing with the AI. Good stuff, as usual!
3/20/2006 - #413: riover (376KB)
New track from Raul Valenzuela, (Pegaso, San Luis Potosi, Chapultepec), this is a little Mexican club circuit, recently demolished and replaced with a NASCAR-style oval. Go figure. Dig the totally-modern BAPOM poster, though!
3/20/2006 - #412: roo37 (396KB)
Roosevelt Raceway is a real-life US track used in the late '30s, recreated for our enjoyment by Richard Neville (Panchine, and the delightful Cerne's Wood). The cover is a thrilling (?) restoration of the original event cover, reformatted somewhat for GPL's aspect ratio.
1/19/2006 - #411: moulin65 (458KB)
A fantasy track from first-timer Marc Ostermann, Moulinsart is a fictional track set in the world of Tintin. Fun stuff! (And enjoy the lovely original artwork of the BAPOM cover - done in the style of Hergé.)

The dog is saying "Tu dois viser le point de corde!"  - sadly unreadable on the GPL-sized version of the cover. French-speaking-people assure me that it's an accurate translation of "You've got to hit your apex!" which is what I originally had there...until I realized that all the other text on the cover was in French, and maybe I'd like to fix that!
1/19/2006 - #410: cerne (415KB)
Here's another beautiful (and graphically unique) track from Luna (aka Richard Neville), who preveiously released Edmonton and Panchine. It's great - download it!
1/19/2006 - #409: valbray (409KB)
Circuit de Valbray is a new fantasy track from first-timer Pascal Fourcade. (Nice to see that there are still new people joining the GPL Track Creation fraternity after all these years.) The track is a fast, flowing modern-feeling track. Sort of reminds me of VanGossum's creations, from back in the day...
1/19/2006 - #408: fir (378KB)
A new track from Ginetto (creator of Fiorano), Firebird International Raceway is a real-life club circuit in the USA, located near Phoenix, AZ. Flat and technical - lots of esses.
12/27/2005 - #407: torino55 (417KB)
Another new track from Sergio, the Torino circuit is a recreation of the real-life 'Parco del Valentino' races held in the '30s-'50s. This one uses the 1955 variation.

You don't need to download the program set - it comes with the track.

12/13/2005 - #406: machwerk (434KB)
The latest from KELLLAAA (creator of Gyral), Machwerk is a fantasy track based on real German roads near Luckenwalde. It is also a frickin' masterpiece - easily counted among the top-5 GPL tracks ever released. An exciting 'rally' feeling drive over twisty, hilly country roads, and the texture work is incredible. Another must-have, even if you're one of those no-fantasy-tracks purists!
12/13/2005 - #405: brno65 (415KB)
The latest from Sergio Loro and his crack track-manufacturing team, this is a beautiful rendition of the old Czechoslovakian Brno circuit, as used in 1965. A must-have!
12/13/2005 - #404: motopark (425KB)
A new one from first-timer Kimmo Kokkonen, Motopark Raceway is a real club circuit located in Virtasalmi, Finland. Nice and hilly, good fun!
12/13/2005 - #403: cham (366KB)
Aéroport de Chamrousse is a fantasy track from Martijn Janse (Tyny_1). The layout is based on a real French ice-racing circuit, scaled up to 4km, and decorated with non-ice-racing surroundings.
12/13/2005 - #402: edmonton (465KB)
Here's one from Richard Neville ('Luna'), creator of the top-notch Panchine track. It's a fine rendition of the old Edmonton Speedway, as used by the Can-Am series in the late-'60s and early-'70s. The track no longer exists (having been turned into a mall, or a housing development, or some such), making it another lovely entry in the GPL Encyclopedia of Lost Motor Circuits.
12/13/2005 - #401: pegaso (394KB)
A new one from Raul Valenzuela (Chapultepec, Zeltflug, San Luis Potosi). Pegaso is a real-life karting track in Mexico, but this track is actually a scaled-up version of their R/C circuit. Go figure. In any event, it's a fun modern fantasy track (along the lines of the various Van Gossum tracks, to my mind.)
